Fockewulf 190 were a Human League-Ultravox-Kraftwerk-inspired Italian duo who were most active in the 80′s, although as recently as 2010, they released a cover of the classic Kraftwerk track “The Model.” They take their name from a WWII German fighter jet.

From their 2011 release Interplay. John Foxx was the mastermind behind 80′s electronic experimenters Ultravox. This is his collaboration with producer Benge.

hurts – “wonderful life (mantronix remix)” (download)
These guys look like Ultravox and sound like Culture Club. Their single “Wonderful Life” was already a recent favorite of mine before I heard Arthur Baker’s awesome remix, and then stumbled on this remix from 80′s electro legend Mantronix, which takes the cake as far as these re-workings go. There’s really nothing about this song that would lead you to believe this DIDN’T come straight out of the 80′s.
