Anticon released this FREE Isaiah Toothtaker EP Sea Punk Funk at midnight last night. 8 tracks of electro funk produced by Sixtoo, who, to my knowledge, hasn’t produced anything under the Sixtoo name in years. Isaiah Toothtaker has been very busy as of late. Most recently releasing Toothy Wavy, his collaboration with The Hood Internet and Max B, and now this brand new EP with Rapewolf called Rob Zombie (produced entirely by Harry Fraud). Bomarr Blog superhomie Eric Steuer (Meanest Man Contest) has a brand new project called Not the 1s that he recently started with Oakland rapper Mawnstr (Connoisseurs). They have a REALLY great EP coming out soon called Why You Cryin? featuring production from Lunice (he produced this track), as well as dEbruit, Daedelus, Mexicans With Guns and Monster Rally. Seriously some great stuff and it’s been in constant rotation around here lately. They just started a Kickstarter campaign to help fund a limited vinyl release of the EP on colored vinyl via Gold Robot. If you’re into this, I’d highly recommend going over there and pledging even a few bucks, because this NEEDS to get a proper vinyl release.

isaiah toothtaker – “intruder” (download)
Isaiah Toothtaker is back (not that he ever went anywhere) with this banger of a track from his upcoming Illuminati Thug Mafia record (which drops on Machina Muerte Jan 25). This track was produced by Wavves drummer Jacob Safari, and has a somewhat NSFW video companion piece to go with it. The video features lots of graphic footage, alongside imagery of Isaiah and Full Force Frank (a zine publisher from the 80′s who promised to one day commit a massacre, and then mysteriously disappeared). Also, the song steals the hook from the Antoine Dodson/Gregory Brothers “Bed Intruder” song. This record is going to be amazing. Look for Isaiah on my upcoming solo record, and look for more Machina Muerte-affiliated folks to take over the blog this week, including Passage‘s remix of a Crime track, and a rough mix of my track with Zackey Force Funk.

UK producer Awkward should be best known to Bomarr Blog readers for producing the Isaiah Toothtaker track “Rare Form” that I posted a little while back. In addition to his production skills, he also raps (as heard in the last verse on the above mentioned track). His remix skills just landed him a spot on DJ Shadow‘s new Remix Project disc, which should be out soon. In the meantime, he’s just released a free EP called Actual Gravity, which you can download in exchange for an email address right here.

I’m not sure how I slept on Mestizo for so long. I’d heard his name tossed around for years, and recently heard him as half of Humansuit (with Isaiah Toothtaker), but never got around to actually checking out his solo stuff. Last week, listening to SergDun’s awesome Werdemup podcast , this song popped up at around 45 minutes in. I asked Serg what it was, and he gave me the scoop. This Let It Spray EP just came out 2 weeks ago, and this track was produced by Rx, who also happened to be one of the winners of the Restiform Bodies Remix Contest we held a while back. The EP also features remixes by Chrissy Murderbot, Dev79, 6Blocc, Siyoung and Innaspace. Check out the video for “Let It Spray” here.

Another great track from Isaiah Toothtaker. A bit older, I believe. The beat is great, the rapping is great, everything about it is great. I still stick to my guns when I say that this guy is fast becoming one of my new favorite rappers. “Rare Form” is produced by Bristol-based producer/mc Awkward. Yiggy is the brand new FREE release from Tucson’s rapper/tattoo artist Isaiah Toothtaker. I’ll be completely honest, there’s not a lot of new rap coming out these days that I’m too impressed by. I think a lot of it is pretty boring, actually, but every once in a while, someone surprises me and causes me to rethink things a bit. Isaiah is one of them. He’s managed to get some really impressive production for this record as well, recruiting his friends Megasoid, Eligh of Living Legends, Subtitle, Eric Steuer of Meanest Man Contest, Meaty Ogre and more. He also gets bonus points for editing footage of my man Tsim Fuckus to create a video for “Bassface.” It almost seems wrong to offer something this good for free. Go grab it here.
